This book cover is an academic project that I designed as an example for my students at Bauder College in Atlanta, Ga. The student assignment was to design a Color Theory text book including the front and back cover. I used this book cover design as an example because I want students to be able to create a realistic book cover that appears to be 3D for their portfolio. When I was a designer at Four Square Design in Roanoke, VA we had contracts with several book publishers and I had an opportunity to design a variety of book covers. I would create mock-up book covers that appeared a real as a photograph. This project is a very effective student project and it makes a nice addition to any graphic design portfolio. This book cover design provides a great example of how a book cover is designed and displayed.
