I designed these public service announcements as examples for my students when I was the Design Department Chair and educator at the International Academy of Design and Technology in Seattle. This project is a Public Service Announcement on the topic of cyberbullying. This PSA includes a magazine layout, a kiosk design, and a billboard. This PSA addresses a very real problem for children and teens everywhere. The design of each piece of this project speaks for themselves. This Public Service Announcement addresses the seriousness of dementia. This PSA includes posters, a magazine layout, a kiosk design, and a large sign placed in the stairwell of a subway station. The topic of dementia is very sad, yet very common as well. I lost my own mother to dementia and it was very difficult for her and my family. I thought this topic would make an informational PSA while expressing the seriousness of the disease. This PSA uses images and text that evoke emotion and give the viewer information on the signs of dementia. Please click the above image to view the multi-piece project.
This project is a Public Service Announcement on the topic of texting while driving. This campaign includes posters, a magazine layout, a kiosk design and a billboard. It’s purpose is to bring awareness to the dangers of texting and driving. This topic uses shock value to evoke emotion and get a response from the viewer. There are many lives lost each year in automobile accidents that were caused by people paying attention to their mobile phones instead of paying attention to the road. The statistics are disturbing, yet people of all ages continue to text and use their phones while driving. Please click the above image to view the multi-piece project.
